Yayasan Lentera Kasih Agape (YLKA) is preparing to launch a new project. The first phase of the project will focus on needs assessment and stakeholder mapping, led by a dedicated Field Officer.
Position Summary:
The Field Officer will be responsible for conducting a comprehensive field assessment in a designated area identified as a potential YLKA project location. The findings from this assessment will contribute to the design and implementation of the next project cycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Assessment Phase:
• Conduct field visits to gather qualitative and quantitative data on community needs.
• Lead participatory assessments with local stakeholders, churches, community members, and authorities.
• Identify challenges, opportunities, and risks
• Recruit, train, and supervise local enumerators to support the data collection process.
• Ensure quality control of all collected data and adherence to ethical research standards.
• Analyze assessment findings and draft clear, evidence-based reports and recommendations.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external partners for information gathering.
• Monitor and report all assessment-related expenditures in compliance with YLKA financial procedures.
Preparation for Project Kick-Off:
• Contribute to the development of project plans, budgets, and timelines based on assessment results.
• Map out relevant stakeholders and build initial connections with key actors in the area.
• Assist in recruitment and training preparation for the project team.
Organizational Support :
YLKA is committed to supporting its field personnel. The following support will be provided for this position:
• Pre-field training and technical guidance to ensure readiness and contextual understanding.
• Safety and risk management protocols, including periodic security briefings and field monitoring.
• Basic accommodation and local transportation support in the project location.
• A collaborative working environment with strong mentoring and reporting structures.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in development studies, social sciences, public health, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in field assessment, community development, or Church Development.
• Familiarity with contextual mission approaches
• Proven experience in recruiting and managing field data collection teams (enumerators).
• Strong analytical, reporting, and facilitation skills.
• Experience working with communities in remote or vulnerable areas.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and data collection tools.
• Able to work within a collaborative environment and under a strong organizational structure.
• Willing and ready to be placed in an area with potential security risks.
Desirable:
• Prior experience in project coordination or team leadership.
• Familiarity with faith-based organizations or holistic community transformation models.
• Knowledge of local languages and cultural dynamics in rural Indonesia.
• Good command of English, both written and spoken.
• Strong spiritual maturity and alignment with YLKA’s vision and values.
